Mental Health Association Fund Raiser Monday October 12, 2015

HomeB.A.S.E (Bullying And Suicides Eliminated) is teaming up with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, the Lincoln Police Department, and Our Saviour Lutheran Church to host a spaghetti dinner.  Proceeds will assist the Mental Health Association of Nebraska’s in facilitating WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) support groups in Lincoln and Lancaster County Middle/High schools, provide teacher and student education and outreach services.

Suicide is the second leading cause of death for teens in Nebraska. Bullying is an ongoing issue for youth of all ages.  There are resources and services we can provide to our young people to better cope with negative experiences.  MHA believes with prevention measures and education we will see less of our youth in the adult behavioral health world. Outside funding sources are in the works, but the need is immediate as we respond to requests from educators and the community.

The HomeB.A.S.E. Spaghetti Dinner will take place on Monday, October 12th, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., in the basement of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church (map).   Entry to the event will be a free will donation. Have fun with some wonderful raffle prizes and silent auction items.  Hear community speakers share their experiences. Lincoln and Lancaster County youth will support the cause by helping to serve you.

If you are not able to attend the fundraiser, but are still interested in supporting our youth, please contact, Destenie Commuso WRAP Facilitator, at 402-441-4371. Spread the word and invite your friends.
